Our Factory Grey 7/16" x 10' HMPE Bridle Leg with Soft Eyes (18,900 lb MBS) is a great modular addition to your recovery kit! It has the strength of a strap, without all the bulk. This sling features soft eyes, with an oversized 1' eye on one end that enables this sling to be hitched to a vehicle recovery point or any other synthetic line-compatible connection point. 'Hitching' the eye of a sling (commonly called the 'choker' configuration) can reduce the strength of the rope, however with this sling this is countered by the fact that the extended eye essentially doubles the diameter of the rope throughout the hitch, enabling the sling to retains it's original Minimum Breaking Strength when hitched. The benefit? Hitching one end of a bridle leg reduces the overall number of connectors (shackles, soft shackles, etc) required for a given recovery configuration! Two of these make a perfect bridle that easily meets the minimum recommended 3:1 reach-to-width ratio.
This 1/2" x 10' Bridle Leg's 18,900 lb MBS roughly matches the 19,000 lb MBS of a 3/4" Kinetic Rope Line, making this item perfect for use as a stand-alone static pull line or as an extension with up to a 3/2" Kinetic Rope or any other such rope/strap having an MBS that does not exceed 19,000 lbs!
